Enduring Through Difficulty
October 29, 2007 on 1:24 pm | In Forgiveness | 2 CommentsOne of the things that I believe is that whatever tests you, makes you stronger. If you are going through a tough time, thank God. I mean it…Thank God! He has counted you special and ready for the next level.
After you make it through difficult times, don’t you find peace? If you make it through this time, or future times, you will always be at peace once you are through the trial.
I just heard on the news about a young woman who died when she answered a Craigslist ad. While that is a tragic loss to her parents, they can grow from the tragedy, and it turns out that her father is a minister. He said he does believe that he will see their daughter when they join her in heaven, but he doesn’t want to hear the cliche “This was God’s will!” I believe he is wrong, and let me try to explain why.
God is God. According to scripture He knows everything about us. He has known us before time was. You see, time is not God’s concept as He was, is, and will always be. He did know that this young lady would die this tragic death, but God also knows what the father will do during this difficulty. And yes, folks, this is a chance for him to grow.
He can choose to deny God knew about his daughter’s life. That He knew when and how she was going to die. If he does deny it, isn’t that just taking away from God’s sovereignty? I know this sounds cruel, and I know that it hurts, but God is in control. I believe that with all my heart. God will also be with that family as they endure through the trial.
Endure through your trial, I know you have one. We all do, or we are not growing in God. Peter and Paul watched as people were martyred around them, but they endured for the greater glory of God. God was in control, and they knew it. Sure they grieved, but they did not dwell on it, nor did they say that it was not God’s will that these people died. God’s will is in everything that happens around us.
Don’t deny God’s sovereignty, praise Him for it. For without Him being in control what would we have?
