It has been too long since I was here!
March 13, 2009 on 9:54 pm | In Forgiveness | No CommentsI want to apologize to everyone who comes here to read my rantings. I have been negligent in my blog duties, but I think facebook is the problem…
I have been servicing God with all my heart, and I am blessed by all the friends that I have. God has given me the ability to see our pastor’s vision and he has asked me to put together the countdowns and the media presentation. An awesome responsibility, but with God’s help I get it done every week. And I am having fun, too!
I pray right now for my readers, that they are not being hurt too badly by the worldwide economic downturn. If you have Jesus in your heart, you will be able to get through with His help, and He did promise to help us. Even the small stuff, ask and it shall given to you.
Hopefully I won’t be gone for so long, but however long it is, may God Bless you and keep you in His stead.
God Bless all of you!
I say Merry Christmas!
December 24, 2007 on 4:55 pm | In Forgiveness | 1 CommentI say Merry Christmas to everyone! Why? Because that is the holiday I celebrate. If you celebrate other names during this same holiday season, then respond to me with the wishes of your holiday. I understand that!
It could be that you celebrate the “Holiday Season”, the “Winter Solstice”, ” Hanukkah”, or “Ramadan”. It does not matter to me what you celebrate during this holiday season at the end of the year, just celebrate it, OK?
Telling me I should be PC (Politically Correct) and just be generic in my greeting is against my religion. You see, I am a Christian, and I celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I say Merry Christmas.
I beg you, do not respond to me in a negative way when I say Merry Christmas as it is not meant to hurt you in any way, it is just my greeting at this time of year. It is my way of being joyful!
ModsetNeeds.org Can Help You Be The Light At This Time Of Year.
December 11, 2007 on 4:33 pm | In Forgiveness | No CommentsI was sitting here at my desk wondering why I do not decorate at Christmastime. Can I honestly say that it because I am too lazy? That could be part of it, but I think it is more that if I do decorate I feel I am falling into the commercialization that has taken over the celebration. I really think that my money is better spent by giving to my favorite charities like ModestNeeds.org .
Dr. Taylor has a mission to give a “Hand Up’ to people who are unable to qualify for other kinds of help. They are people like Gabriella whose son has Asperger’s Syndrome. This is an affliction that means Brandon has no common social skills, and consequently, no friends because he has no way of being ‘nice’ to others. There are camps at certain times of the year that help people like Brandon develop those skills that we all take for granted. Gabriella could not afford to send Brandon to camp, and her insurance would not cover it. She appealed to the members of Dr. Taylor’s website and received the needed funding for the camp. Please read the complete story here, and then you too, can sign up to help people like her.
These are the types of things that I do to help give light at Christmastime. There are other places that you can help all around the world, or even in your own locality. Do a search on Google for charities in your city, or volunteer oportunities in your area. Get busy showing your light to others who can use a “Hand Up”.
If you are at that point in your life where you need that “Hand Up” do not hesitate, go immediately to ModestNeeds.org and fill out an application for a grant. Please do not let your pride get in the way of your needs, get help today.
Someone Is Waiting For You Today.
November 16, 2007 on 6:48 pm | In Forgiveness | No CommentsThis morning I was at our church office at 6AM. You see, we have Men’s Prayer Group. The men of the church meet to pray for our needs and the needs of the church as well as the community and the world. While I was waiting, i was reading Acts 3 and 4.
Peter and John were going to the Temple to pray and teach, and they came upon a lame man at the Gate Beautiful. He was always there to beg alms, but the interesting thing to me is that there was someone who put him there every day to beg. What was their motivation? Did they have jobs, and if they did, why weren’t they taking care of this lame man? Did they really expect him to pull his own weight? Maybe the lame man’s pride kept him from relying on others.
Lucky for him, Peter passed by and offered his hand and the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and when the lame man took Peter’s hand he immediately received strength in his legs and ankles.
Acts 3:8-9 Leaping up, he stood, and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God. All the people saw him walking and praising God.
The people who were at the temple saw him and they were amazed. They knew who he was, they had seen him every day! Peter told them not to be amazed, as he was not the one who performed the miracle, that Jesus Christ did it.
Do you have someone in your life that you need to reach out to? Someone you see everyday? They are just waiting for someone to help them, will you be that someone? Or will you pass by…again?
Enduring Through Difficulty
October 29, 2007 on 1:24 pm | In Forgiveness | No CommentsOne of the things that I believe is that whatever tests you, makes you stronger. If you are going through a tough time, thank God. I mean it…Thank God! He has counted you special and ready for the next level.
After you make it through difficult times, don’t you find peace? If you make it through this time, or future times, you will always be at peace once you are through the trial.
I just heard on the news about a young woman who died when she answered a Craigslist ad. While that is a tragic loss to her parents, they can grow from the tragedy, and it turns out that her father is a minister. He said he does believe that he will see their daughter when they join her in heaven, but he doesn’t want to hear the cliche “This was God’s will!” I believe he is wrong, and let me try to explain why.
God is God. According to scripture He knows everything about us. He has known us before time was. You see, time is not God’s concept as He was, is, and will always be. He did know that this young lady would die this tragic death, but God also knows what the father will do during this difficulty. And yes, folks, this is a chance for him to grow.
He can choose to deny God knew about his daughter’s life. That He knew when and how she was going to die. If he does deny it, isn’t that just taking away from God’s sovereignty? I know this sounds cruel, and I know that it hurts, but God is in control. I believe that with all my heart. God will also be with that family as they endure through the trial.
Endure through your trial, I know you have one. We all do, or we are not growing in God. Peter and Paul watched as people were martyred around them, but they endured for the greater glory of God. God was in control, and they knew it. Sure they grieved, but they did not dwell on it, nor did they say that it was not God’s will that these people died. God’s will is in everything that happens around us.
Don’t deny God’s sovereignty, praise Him for it. For without Him being in control what would we have?
Spirituality Isn’t Religion, It Is A Relationship
September 15, 2007 on 10:23 am | In Forgiveness | No CommentsIf everyone knew the relationship I am referring to, this world could survive. But alas, it is not meant to be. It is foretold that many will refuse to know the way, the truth, and the light! Refuse, and your spiritual life is in peril. So, the first blog that I write will be to ask you to seek Jesus, and be saved.
Yeah, I get that all the time. “What if you are just following a man made teaching?” If you have done any study, you can see that the life Jesus lived was foretold in the Torah through prophecy. Not one prophecy written about in the Torah was left unfulfilled by the life of Christ. Whoops, I take that back. He still has some of those prophecies to fulfill, but they do not happen until the Father says that they will.
Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father, waiting for Him to say “Go, Son, get my children and bring them out of that world. I am tired of the evil ones doing the unspeakable, and I will now punish them to try and convince the last few that they need to turn from their evil ways.” Once that happens, if you are left behind, you will see the power of the just God come upon the evilness of this world.
But if you accept, on faith, that Jesus died for your sins, and that He rose from the dead, and is sitting at the right hand of the Father, interceding for you, you will be saved from that torment. Won’t you ask Him into your heart today? When you do that, then find a Bible believing church and become a part of it. You will grow in your knowledge and wisdom, and you too could start a blog to reach others.
